Carlsbad beaches offer a variety of activities from surfing, swimming, horseshoes, and sunbathing to skin diving, windsurfing, camping, kayaking and boogie boarding. It is about five miles long, has picnic areas on the beach and above on the bluff overlooking the beach and Pacific Ocean.
This San Diego beach has popular campsites on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There are stairs provided to access the secluded beach to swim, surf, skin dive, fish or picnic. The beach is open to the public but there are no day-use facilities. South Carlsbad State Beach is located at Poinsettia Lane approximately three miles south of Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort on Carlsbad Boulevard.

outh Ponto Beach is on the south end of South Carlsbad State Beach, and just south of Batiquitos Lagoon and the jetties. This beach is a popular surf spot with occasional surfing events. It is just north of Leucadia, where the bluffs end and the open stretch of ocean begins.
